According to the survey conducted by parenting website Muhammad is the most popular name for baby boys in 2014 in UK. last year Oliver and Jack was the most popular boy names.

The online survey by BabyCentre is not an official national census, but does echo figures collected by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which also ranked "Muhammad" number one and included various spellings of the name.

For girls, Sophia proved the most popular name of the year, according to website Babycentre.
Maryam is the biggest riser for girls, jumping 59 places to number 35, Nur is a new entry at number 29, while Omar, Ali, and Ibrahim are all new to the boys’ top 100.
